OSAT Blog Hop And the 7th Day of Halloween Treats

It's time for Halloween Tricks and Spooky Treats with the OSAT design team!
Of course, it's also Day 7 of my 13 Days of Halloween Treats!!

So we're gonna work the two simultaneously, as the OSAT Blog Hop theme is all about Halloween and Trick or Treat!! YAY!!

Today's Halloween Treat is a super adorable lollipop holder! It's made to be free standing and is just as cute as it could be with that sweet little hootie lookin' out for the tiny little spider!

To create this project, you'll want a piece of cardstock that measures 5 1/2" x 2".  Then, you'll score on the LONG SIDE at: 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", 5".

Once you've done that, you'll need to create a notch for the lolli stick to go through.  There are several ways of doing this, but the way I chose was to hold the two ends of the cardstock together and then score little notches at 7/8" & 1 1/8" and then cut on those notches from the edge to the first score line. Then cut that little notched out section, off.

Just like most of the other projects, I inked all the edges. I truly do think it finishes the project off that much more.  I attached a 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" square of DSP to the front panel and then embellished with a 2" Granny Apple Green Scalloped Circle, and a 1 7/8" Whisper White Circle.

I stamped the little owl & tree scene and then colored everything with Stampin' Blends.  I used the LIGHT Purple Posy to color the background of the white so it wouldn't be so stark.  To create some dimension,  I stamped the owl & spider section on another piece of scrap paper, colored them and die cut them out, then layered them over top of their respective parts with Stampin' Dimensionals.

As you can see from the image below, I only die cut one spider web and then cut it in half.  This helps the web be more comparable in size.

Everything else is just assembly.  I glued the spider webs to the backside of the Scalloped Granny Apple Green after I layered the stamped circle on with dimensionals. I also attached the whole thing to the front using dimensionals.  I LOVE those things!! :-D

Ok now, It's time to head over to the next blog to see what fabulous Trick or Treat is in store for you!  Hop all the way back around to me so you don't miss any of the wonderful projects we have for you today!

Be sure to stop back by again tomorrow for Day 8 of my 13 Days of Halloween Treats!

Until Next Time,
Happy Crafting!
