Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Meaningful Flowers

Good evening my Paper Pumpkin lovin' friends! How are you today?  This month's kit "MEANINGFUL FLOWERS" features blue Forget Me knot and pink Lotus flowers.  Sooooo pretty!!

The kit includes all the supplies to create 4 each of 2 beautiful designs. And, you get TWO stamp sets in this month's kit instead of just one. Woot Woot for extra goodies!

My alternative project is quite a bit different than the original kit.  I did use one of the little labels, a couple of the clear drops, and some thread.

The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4") Orchid Oasis Cardstock. I've added a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" layer of Melon Mambo Cardstock on the front and also on the inside of the card.

Then, a 5 1/4" x 4" layer of Basic White Cardstock in front of that.  For the card front, I used the Artistic Mix Stencils and Blending Brushes with ink to get that gorgeous background.  It's quite simple to do. I just brushed color at an angle, a little strip at a time.

I added a 5 1/4" x 1 1/4" strip of Melon Mambo Cardstock near the base, to just tone down a bit of that background for my focal image.  This piece was punched using the Decorative Circle Punch and a part of an envelope from the kit.  I used that because the White in our Paper Pumpkin kits isn't actually the same white as our Basic White.  You can't tell with the background layer because of all the color. But when you put the label strip and that punched circle side by side, you can really tell! YIKES!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sentiments in this kit! Oh my!!! They are so encouraging and uplifting!

Here, you can see the Decorative Circle punched out of the envelope.  I am notorious for deconstructing envelopes if they have printing on the inside. This kit was perfect for that! (I'll show you another card later that uses the rest of the envelope).

The Melon Mambo background layer helps bring the colors together well, I think.  Or maybe I just LOVE Melon Mambo! Whatever the case, I think it looks nice here. :-D

Once the layers are attached to the card, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the sentiment and floral piece.  Then, I used a little Glue Dot to attach the thread bow.

The inside of the card has the same Melon Mambo layer. It adds a nice thickness to the card and a little pop of color too!  I ended up coloring this flower the same as the front (and the envelope too! MATCHY MATCHY!!!) with Pretty Peacock and Bubble Bath Stampin' Blends Markers.

NO NAKED INSIDES, AND NO NAKED ENVELOPES!!!

The final card is super cute. I love all the color! What do you think?  It's a bit different than the feel of the cards in the kit, isn't it?
