Thanks and Gratitude Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Good morning friends! How are you this fine Monday morning?  It's the last Monday of the month and that means it's time, once again, for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop! YAYAYA!!! This month's theme is Thanks and Gratitude.  It's always nice to feel appreciated, and it's even nicer when you have the ability to show someone how much you appreciate them. Endorphines release and good feelings are had by all! :-D 

I chose to use the New Horizons product Collection for my project because it's so beautiful and makes me feel good inside.  This card reminds me of being out in the country, just enjoying the beauty that God created. 

The New Horizons 6x6" Designer Series Paper really is the star of the show for this card.  I love the incredible watercolor layouts and this particular one did most of the work for me!

I started out with a Basic White Card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"), then added a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" layer of Evening Evergreen Cardstock. I did a little stamping on the 4" x 5 1/4" DSP layer before attaching it to the card front. 

To get a bit of depth and dimension to my card, I die cut some Garden Green grass pieces and used a blending brush to color over them. This REALLY gives you some nice texture. You can see the difference between the top and bottom pieces here. 

I did the same with the fence panels.  What a HUGE difference it makes!

The last element to the card is the sentiment strip.  I stamped the sentiment on a 1/2" scrap strip of Basic White Cardstock and trimmed each end at an angle. I don't know about you, but I always have tons of these 1/2" strips leftover from cutting my card mats. :-) It's a terrific way to use them up!

CASE A Friend Blog Hop

Good morning friends! TGIF!! Today, the Crafty Collaborations Crew has a super fun blog hop for you to enjoy! They say that mockery is the sincerest form of flattery. And in this case, it's absolutely true! Each designer hopping today has CASE'd someone else's work.  We've replicated or taken inspiration from someone we admire and look up to.  I have several people that I deeply admire, respect, appreciate, and love. So it was really difficult to figure out who I wanted to CASE.  But then, I was looking for inspiration with the On The Horizon Bundle and came across this beautiful card! 

Miss Amy is truly a wonderful and talented person! She's very nice and friendly too! I really enjoy her work. Her cards are so clean and beautiful. Now, my card is a little different than hers in a few interesting ways.  On the surface, they look nearly identical. But, Amy used the Oceanfront Stamp Set along with the On the Horizon Bundle to make her card.  I used Stampin' Blends Markers and the On The Horizon Bundle exclusively.

I love Amy's card and really enjoy seeing her projects. You can get tons of inspiration from her work!

One thing I like to do when I'm thinking about purchasing a new Stamp & Die Bundle is, I like to Google images using that bundle. So in this case, you could Google search: "On The Horizon Stampin' Up". Be sure to click the IMAGES tab on the search.  Then you can see tons and tons of fabulous project ideas for that set! If you find a lot that you like, that means it's safe to say you will get a lot of use out of the set.
