Pride Parade, coming through!

Love is LOVE, people! Today is a good day to shout it from the rooftops.  Join me and the Crafty Collaborations Crew for a rainbow filled parade of pride focused projects.

Quick back story: I've had this piece of rainbow stripes with the heart cut out for weeks.  It's the "scrap" from another project I did not too long ago.  I was sure that I could find a use for it, because I couldn't bear the thought of throwing it away. Then, this hop came along and I just knew that this was it!

I love how bright and cheerful the card is!  It reminds me of Rainbow Brite.  The Basic White makes a beautiful background for all that incredible color! So fresh and clean!

The rainbow stripe piece is just thin scraps of cardstock that I already had on hand. A piece of paper has to be PRETTY SMALL for me to throw it away. lol. I'm thrifty like that.  So it was pretty easy to find 1/4" and smaller strips from these colors: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Night of Navy, and Highland Heather.  They were just attached to a piece of Basic White Cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On the original project, I wanted a rainbow heart.  So I had attached all these strips with the intent of just being able to get that one heart out of it.  It worked out perfectly, because I was able to trim away the revealing white cardstock, and use foam adhesive strips to attach this piece to the corner of the card.  Then, I just used the same heart punch to cut a Real Red one and layered it over the top.

The "hello" sentiment comes from the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and the "sweet friend" sentiment came from the Measure of Love stamp set.  Both sentiments' labels came from the Messages Die.

I really didn't want much embellishment on the card, because I wanted to preserve the clean look.  A sweet bow tied from White Baker's Twine and a couple little Red Rhinestones were just the ticket!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Be sure to follow the hop around to see all the other fantastic creations the rest of the crew have come up with for you. :-D  Thanks so much for stopping by!

July/December 2021 Catalog Sneak Peek Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Good morning friends!! Happy last Monday of the Month to ya.  Last Monday of the month means it's time for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop! I can't wait to share this month's hop with you because it's all about BRAND NEW upcoming products that will be available beginning August 3rd!!!

YAYAYAYA for new stuff to play with!!
And a DOUBLE YAYAYAYAYAYA for a second Sale-a-Bration!!! Am I right?!

My project is a little set of super cute notecards, featuring the Frosted Gingerbread Bundle.  The bundle is part of the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite and let me just tell you that it's literally the CUTEST Christmas themed collection out there! The suite includes the bundle, an additional little Pillow Box die set (YES! A pillow box!), a Memories & More card set as well as coordinating card base/envelopes, Ribbon, embellishments, Designer Series Paper and more! It's the total package for your Christmastime papercrafting needs.

These products will be available for purchase beginning August 3rd, so be on the lookout for them then! Meanwhile, I can wet your whistle with my notecard set. hehe.

These notecards are actually a quarter sheet of standard 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. scored in half, so you can get FOUR on each sheet of cardstock.  Each card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" scored at 2 3/4" on the long side.  I used Old Olive Cardstock for the bases.

Then, I cut TWO pieces of 4 1/8" x 2 5/8" Basic White (for the inside and outside layers).

I stamped "You're the icing to my gingerbread" in Early Espresso on the outside layer, then adhered it to the card base with Stampin' Seal.

I attached a 4 1/4" x 3/4" strip of the new Be Dazzling 6"x6" Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper across the bottom of the card (maybe about 1/2" above the edge).

The gorgeous cookies you see attached to the fronts of the cards, are actually die cut from the Designer Series Paper, using the coordinated Gingerbread dies.  So stinkin' cute!!! I love when Stampin' Up coordinates the DSP with a punch or dies! So awesome! I attached them with Dimensionals to give em a little lift.

I mean, just LOOK at those die cuts! They look about good enough to eat! hehe.

The little notecards are super easy to make and are a perfect little lunchbox card, or Thank You or pretty much any other reason you can think of to give a card.  They're travel size!

I will be creating a little gift box to hold the notecards LIVE this evening at 7pm EDT on my Facebook Page: The Stampin' Chic Dana Sullivan. I'd love to have you join me!

Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Good morning my creative friends! Today's Crafty Challenge Blog Hop is a color challenge. It just so happens that this is one of my all time favorite color collections. It's so bright and fun!

It reminds me of Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth.

And of course, all the "latest fashion"! Bright colors and LOTS of it!

Ok, so I'm an 80's girl. I LOVED that stuff!!

Well, you can kinda see the resemblance in today's color challenge. Right? Or is it just me? lol.

Crafty COLOR Challenge

I really enjoy this color combination and had a terrific time creating this fun card for you, so like, check it out! ok?

I started out with a Melon Mambo card base (4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2").  Then, with the help of the Color & Contour bundle (Hello Scalloped Contours Dies), I added a layer of Basic White Cardstock, then a layer of Granny Apple Green Cardstock, then a die cut piece of Bermuda Bay, and finally, A piece of Basic White for the stamping.  I also added a piece of Basic White to the inside.

The Color & Contour stamp set is very sweet as well.  I stamped the large flower stem in Tuxedo Black ink and then stamped the flowers (two-step stampin') in Melon Mambo.  That "AMAZING" sentiment was also stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the flower again, on the left edge of the inside panel and also on the envelope, because..... "NO NAKED INSIDES, AND NO NAKED ENVELOPES!"  Right?

A few of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels added the finishing touch to my card.

If you don't already have the Scalloped Contours Dies, this is DEFINITELY a set you need in your collection! There are unlimited possibilities with it!  You can find all of the products I used down below and click the images to go directly to that item in my webstore. How convenient is that?!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Be sure to hop along to see how the other Crafty Collaborations Crew have interpreted this color theme. Enjoy!
