Day 11 of the 13 Days of Halloween Treats!

Oh my! Only a couple more days left of our 13 Days of Halloween Treats, after today!  I hope you've enjoyed all these delightful goodies!

Today's treat holder is a bit simpler, as the recipient is a little boy that really isn't gonna be too terribly interested in the packaging.  However, I wanted to still give you another terrific Halloween Treat Holder idea!!

I love the simplicity but the beauty of a drawer pull matchbox treat holder.  I hadn't done one yet because I had been saving it for this little treat!  I found the bag of FANG whistles at Walmart.  It's a mesh bag full of em (Maybe 6 or so?), in the Halloween treats aisle.  My little buddy is gonna LOVE IT!  So I needed it to have quick and easy access or this little 5 year old would NOT have the patience to get it out! hahaha!

The base of the box is 5 1/4" x 4" and scored at 1" on all four sides.  A "standard" box assembly gets the base finished up and ready .  If you aren't sure about how to make a basic box, check out this video: Create a Simple Box

The outer sleeve covering the box is a piece of Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper cut @ 6 1/2" x 3 1/4".  I didn't score this paper until it was already wrapped around the box.  Once I attached the end to end (creating a sleeve), I used my fingernails to give the corners a sharp edge. 

I'm loving the Celebration Labels Dies for creating the fantastic tag!  I used the 2nd smallest one for the tag here.  Cut one in Whisper White, then fold and burnish in half.  Cut half of another one out of Granny Apple Green Cardstock and layer over the front of the White one using some liquid glue.  Of course I had to ink the edges of the tag too. It just wouldn't have the same spooky vibe otherwise!

I used the stamparatus for the Dracula AND the "Good to the last bite" sentiment because I wanted them to be really crisp and BLACK! Stamparatus is perfect for that because you can ink, stamp, repeat as many times as you feel necessary.  I only needed to do it twice to get a really crisp image for each.  I stamped the sentiment directly to the tag. But Dracula really needed some dimension, so I had to fussy cut him. He wasn't bad at all. 

I cut a length of ribbon and zig zagged it behind the tag. Then I added two layers of dimensionals to the upper back and one dimensional to the bottom to keep the tag kinda tilted at an angle on the box.  To finish it off and make it easy for my little buddy to get it open, I used a handheld hole punch to make a hole in the end of the base.  I tied a knot in one end of an approx. 6" piece of ribbon and worked it through the hole.  Now my little friend has a drawer with a drawer pull to help him get his treats!

Well, friends, there it is! I hope you enjoy it. If you were wanting to dress the box up, you could easily just add a few of those fabulous little Holiday Rhinestones!
