Well hello there friends!! Nice to see you again. I am on a roll with the blog hoppin' biz this week! haha! Today's hop is once again hosted by Miss Kylie (I just love her, don't you?!). This one comes from her demonstrator training program. I am having such a fantastic time and am learning so much already!
Today, I want to chat a little about something we discussed at OnStage last month. I'm referring to the three categories of stamper: Beginner, Casual, and Avid.
What do I mean by this? Well, as Stampin' Up demonstrators we try to reach out to all levels of experience in paper crafters. We want to provide the best service we can to each and every person we come in contact with. So, knowing each person's skill level is important in helping them find products that they will love!
The BEGINNER is someone who has likely never stamped at all before. They have little to no supplies to start with, but are eager to get creative and make things! This card is the perfect example of a beginner project. It uses a Whisper White card base, one stamp set and just a couple of colors of ink. There are no difficult techniques and a beginner could easily re-create this card on their own.
The CASUAL crafter has been collecting some supplies and stamps on occasion. They enjoy a good class and like to try new things, but they still enjoy the simplicity of projects they can recreate at home. This card using the same idea as the beginner card, but here you see that we've added layers of cardstock and ribbon. This card is perfect for the casual crafter!
The last level of crafter is the AVID crafter! These are the folks, like us, who want it all and probably have most of it! They've been crafting for a bit and have tried lots of techniques and have likely created their own style of stamping. We can keep an avid crafter engaged by adding multiple elements to our projects. In this case, I've added some die cut floral elements from the stamp and die bundle and have layered them onto the card using dimensionals. I used sponge daubers to apply the ink directly to the stamps to get every detail of the image, and I've also added a bit of bling to jazz it up!
As you can see, each level of crafter is just a step up from the last. In every beginner, there is an avid crafter just waiting to be set free! So, lets encourage all of our customers to try new things and help them succeed into their own amazing avid crafters!!
