It's an INKY technique kind of day!

It's time for a Technique Tuesday Blog Hop from the Crafty Creations Crew! YAY! This month's theme is all about INK and what we can do with it! Be prepared to have your mind blown as you visit all of the crew's blogs to see what amazing ways they use INK!

Mine is a transfer of ink technique.

This is a super fun, get your hands dirty and wear your "Saturday work clothes" kind of technique. lol.

It starts with a piece of acetate and some re-inkers.  You put a couple drops of ink strategically around the acetate (window sheet),  and then spritz it with a 90% alcohol. Then lay your cardstock directly on top, lift, and see what you get.

Not knowing exactly what your cardstock will look like is part of the fun! ha!

At my last Hostess Club class, we did some serious playing around with ink to find some new favorite ways to add color to our projects.

I gave each of my girls a supply kit that included: a pair of gloves, a spritzer filled with 90% alcohol, half a straw, one 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of acetate (window sheet), and several 4" x 5 1/4" sheets of Basic White Cardstock. I packaged them all into Stampin' Up's fab clear acetate card boxes.

We used Stampin' Blends to squiggle on the Window Sheet.

and then FLICKED with markers.

We used the straws to move drops of re-inker around on the Window Sheet before we applied the cardstock.

We came up with some pretty neat new background pieces!

AND, we had a terrific time doing it!

Here is one of the pieces that I created, along with another piece (made the same way) that I allowed to dry and then stamped over using the Natural Textures stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Ink.

I thought it turned out really neat, and of course I had so much fun creating it!  This background used Rich Razzleberry, BumbleBee, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, and Fresh Freesia ink refills.

To create the card, I tied a length of White Crinkle ribbon around the background layer and made it into a bow. Then adhered the layer to a Rich Razzleberry card base.

I brought in the Tasteful Labels Dies to create the label piece. The back one is BumbleBee Cardstock and the front is Basic White.

Hello Friend is from the Biggest Wish stamp set and is Blackberry Bliss and Soft Succulent inks.

Then, I finished it off with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels just to add a little sparkle.

I hope you enjoy today's artsy project.  The background was so much fun to create.  Try this technique soon.  You will love it!
