Stampers Showcase Thanks and Gratitude

Good morning friends!! Happy Monday!  Today's my FAVORITE Monday of the whole month! YES!!! Stampers Showcase Blog Hop!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

This month's theme is all about showing Gratitude and saying "THANKS"!

I decided to use a FREE Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set "A Touch Of Ink" for my project because I haven't given it the love it deserves yet.  It's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL stamp set with two-step distINKtive stamping and some absolutely lovely sentiments.
This project is even better having been paired with another FREE Sale-A-Bration item, the "Oh So Ombre" 6"x6" Designer Series Paper.  I cut a couple of 5 1/2" strips from one of the Granny Apple Green sheets. One strip is 1/2" wide and the other is 1/4".  Just enough to add a little pop of color and texture.

Night Of Navy is the card base (cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4").  Then a layer of Basic White.  Followed by a Night Of Navy Scalloped Layering Oval and a Basic White Stitched Oval Shape.  The hummingbird was stamped in Tuxedo Black and the blues/greens, then fussy cut out.

The coloring on the little hummingbird is so fabulous though! Don't you think?  I really enjoyed using Sponge Daubers and a small collection of ink colors to create that soft and colorful look!

From Left to Right: Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy.

I started with the darker colors first.  I added a little Night Of Navy to the tail.  Then some Shaded Spruce to the wings.  A little Granny Apple to his head, and a touch of Balmy Blue for his belly.  As you daub each color on, you want to just slightly overlap the colors and use the dauber to blend them in.  It creates that incredibly soft and smooth look.

I carried the flower from the outside to the inside of the card.  They were stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and then the two-step color added was Rococo Rose.  Such a pretty color!

As this is a Thank You card, I stamped "Thank You So Much" on the inside.  I do love the two font sentiments! So pretty!
