Technique Tuesday - Embossing Paste

 OOOOH boy do I have a fabulous technique to share with you this week!!  We're gonna use embossing paste to create the background and texture on this AH-DORABLE curvy keepsake box! I started out with the box cut from Merry Merlot paper, and used Silver Embossing Paste.  The silver paste is retired, but you can substitute with the regular white embossing paste and a couple drops of the new delicata silver ink refill. :-)

Here's a quick video to show you how to use the Embossing Paste, and how we used it to make the textured background of our mini curvy keepsake box.

Once the paste was dry, I used the Tuxedo Black Memento ink and sponged over the whole box.  I also inked all the way around the edges to give it a nice spooky look.

I used the Spooktacular Bash stamp set and the Ornate Frames to stamp and cut my little vampire friend and the sentiment. I found that Light Soft Sea Foam makes a fantastic background color for Mr Dracula.

I finished up the box with some of that GORGEOUS Organdy Ribbon! I am SO GLAD Stampin' Up chose to carry it over. It's very pretty!

Make it Monday - Frankie, Drake & Rita Mini Curvy Keepsakes

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you're doing well today! This week is super exciting because I'm going to be sharing not just one, not two, three or five, but SEVEN days of curvy keepsake box ideas!!! WHOA!!!!

Hang on to your britches folks! It's gonna be a great week!

The Mini Curvy Keepsake box is just the CUTEST little box, EVER!!  And, it's so much fun to create all sorts of different themed boxes.

The other day, I posted a photo of Frankie, Drake, and Rita.  And I promised that I would share them on this week's Make-It Monday.

I started my usual Make-It Monday video and got halfway through with Frankie when the silly buggar shut down on me! ACK!  So, there will be a two part video this week! hehe.

Now, for each Character, this is what you'll need:

* The Mini Curvy Keepsake base
* The 1/2" circle Punch
* A handheld circle punch (1/4")
* The elements in each of the Character photos here:

 

The eyes, eyelids and nose are made using the 1/2" punch, with the pupils made using the 1/4" hand punch.

In the 2nd part of the video, I showed how to make Rita's hat and hair.  They're really easy to do!

Feature Friday - Mini Curvy Keepsake Box

Hello, Hello friends!!  I'm really excited to share this week's Feature Friday with you, because I have a series coming up that I think you're going to love!

Our feature this week is none other than the Tiny Keepsake Bundle, featuring the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box (dies)!  It probably doesn't surprise  you since I had posted that fabulous truck and camper yesterday!  But, it prompted me to create other projects with the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box dies.

Ya know, when I purchase a product, I want to make sure I can use it over and over again.  I'm not likely to buy something I'm only going to use once.  Know what I mean?  So, I had to come up with some other fabulous projects with the dies.

I will share a photo (here) that I've shared on my Facebook page today.  It's 3 absolutely ADORABLE little Halloween characters!  And what's better than having adorable treat boxes?  How easy they are to make!!! LOL.   I want CUTE, but I want easy too!  Does that mean I want it all?  Eh, maybe.  hehe. But these little boxes deliver the goods (pun intended. hehe).

The dies are simple and easy to use.  The box is ONE die, which is fabulous.  It fits in the big shot, which is great.  And it even includes dies for tags that are the PERFECT size for the box! YAYA!!!  Talk about EASY!!

Meet Frankie, Drake and Rita!  Aren't they ADORABLE?!!!! They're quick and easy to make too!

3D Thursday - Mini Curvy Camper

Hello my friends! How are you today?  I hope you're doing well! 

It's THURSDAY again, already!

I have a wonderful project to share with you today. I think you're really going to love it! 

Shortly after I got the mini curvy keepsake box dies, I searched youtube and found a video using our retired curvy keepsake box. It was the cutest camper! I knew I had to make one and convert it to the smaller mini curvy keepsake box size.   I'm thrilled to share those results with you!

Look at how PERFECTLY it fits our little pickup truck!!  *SWOOOOOON!*

This project has a LOT of little parts, so I've laid them all out for you here on this paper:

Once you have all of these bits, head over to youtube to see how the camper is assembled.

The camper is as much fun to put together as it is to look at! It's SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!!  LOVE IT!!

Inspire, Create & Share Color Challenge Blog Hop

Hey there friends! Thanks for stopping by! We're joining the Inspire, Create, & Share blog hop with a fabulous theme this month!! 

It's a COLOR CHALLENGE!! YAYAYA!!!  And not JUST any color challenge, but this looks a lot like a HALLOWEEN color challenge!! Muahahahahahahaha!!!

Aren't they fantastic?  I just LOVE Halloween!!! Are you a Halloween fan or no?  Of course, these colors don't HAVE to be for Halloween, but I'm gonna take it there. hehe. 

I used the Tailored Tag punch to do the biggest share of the card design.  I love the way the colors look layered together this way.  What a simple, yet effective way to cover a card front.  I also used the Glittered Organdy Ribbon to bring in some of the Metallic Silver in the sparkle.  The little black epoxy dots from the new Monster Bash Enamel Shapes finished the card up nicely!
