Crafty Collaborations Technique Tuesday - Heat Embossing

Good morning my crafty friends! Today the Crafty Collaborations Crew has a fabulous Technique Tuesday for you! Today, it's all about HEAT EMBOSSING!  This was the technique that first turned me on to stamping all those years ago, and it's still the thing that gets me the most excited about stamping!

Let's see it, shall we?

I decided to make a cute little gift tag for my project.  And, I'm sneaking in some BRAND NEW product from the "SOON TO BE RELEASED" Spring 2023 Mini Catalog! YAYA!! Don't worry about not being able to order these things just yet.  You'll be able to in just TWO DAYS! :-D

Do you notice the spotted background on the tag?  That is Heat Embossed in Gold powder, using the new Hand-Drawn Dots Background Stamp.  You're gonna want to put this one at the top of your wish list! What incredible details you'll be able to add to any project with it! I used the largest of the Tailor Made Tags dies.

From there, I grabbed a scrap of some BRAND NEW Rain Or Shine 12x12" Designer Series Paper. It's the same height as my tag, but I just ripped it down to be a nice little added textural piece for the tag base.

One thing I wish I would have done, but it's ok, is to have inked up the torn edge of the paper before I glued it down.  I didn't do that, but I think it would have looked great!  As shown, I attached the torn DSP piece and then inked around the entire tag with Soft Suede ink.

Not only are you getting a sneak peek of the Hand-Drawn Dots Background Stamp, but I'm also using another brand new stamp set called Friendly Gnomes. One of the FANTASTIC things about this stamp set is that it coordinates with the Gnomes Dies from the 2022 Holiday Catalog.

I used the 4th largest Scalloped Layering Circles Die, and the 3rd largest Stitched Shapes Circle Die to create my focal piece.  The scalloped layer is Flirty Flamingo and I stamped the Mushroom house in Soft Suede ink on Basic White Cardstock.  I've also stamped a little scrap of Basic White Cardstock with Flirty Flamingo ink for the sentiment. I'll cut the words apart and trim them down tight to attach to the tag later.

Stampin' Blends Markers are so much fun to use and so beautiful too!  I've used: Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party.

I wanted to add a little bit more texture to my tag, so I attached a length of sheer Pool Party ribbon to the tag base before I attached the circle piece.  I've also used a lot of Stampin' Dimensionals on this project! lol.  They're attaching the White circle to the Flamingo one, and attaching the whole piece to the tag, AND attaching each of the words to the tag.  Lots of layers and textures going on here.  I love it!

The finishing steps for my tag are to apply a little Wink of Stella to the mushroom house and, of course, add a couple lengths of ribbon to the tag top.  I used some of the sheer Pool Party that I tucked behind the focal piece, and some of the new Pool Party ribbon from the Spring Mini Catalog.

All in all, I'm pleased with this tag.  So cute! Now, who to give it to?? ;-)

I hope you enjoyed my Heat Embossed project, and hope it's inspired  you too!
