ICS Blog Hop Time To Sale-A-Brate

Hello my crafty friends! Let's chat about SALE-A-BRATION! The ICS blog hop is all about showing you some amazing projects featuring the Sale-A-Bration items that you can earn for FREE with a qualifying purchase.

I used the fabulous Calming Camellia HOST SET for my project today.  The detail in the flower image is about more than I can stand! It's so pretty!

On top of all the other amazing Sale-A-Bration and host rewards, you can receive this stamp set free with a $300 order.

I find that, for whatever reason, I don't use Sahara Sand Cardstock nearly often enough. So, today I'm using it in spades.

My card base is an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece (scored at 4 1/4"). Once I folded my base, I stamped some of the smaller cluster across the card using Merry Merlot ink.

I used the 2nd largest Scalloped Contours Die to create the beautiful scalloped layer.  I also used Saharah Sand Cardstock for the sentiment piece which is die cut using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

Right about now, you may be asking how I got the flowers colored this way. It's a magic trick! hehehe. Actually, it's quite simple. I stamped the flower cluster, on the scalloped rectangle, in Merry Merlot ink (another color I don't use nearly often enough). Then, I used a Blender Pen to pull the color across the flowers. It "borrows" color from the outlines, to fill in the petals.  For the green, I used a Blender Pen with a bit of Old Olive ink and colored the leaves.

I popped the scalloped piece up on Stampin' Dimensionals. And then after stamping the sentiment in Merry Merlot, I attached it to the card front with Dimensionals as well.

This technique is a fun way to add or enhance the color on any of your projects. It's just beautiful!
