My FAVORITE Suite in the 2018 Holiday Catalog!

Well Good Morning everyone!! Happy Monday! hehehe. Here in East Tennessee, winter is setting in. As I'm sitting here chatting with you, the sun has come up and is starting to warm the earth. The trees and ground have been lightly dusted with snow and the ice crystals are glistening in the sunlight. It's a beautiful winter day!

Snow always reminds me of my childhood. How I loved to run and play in it with my brothers and sisters! We built forts, made snow angels, and yes! had snowball fights! ha! Another wonderful thing about the snow coming, was that Christmas was on it's way! Yes, of course, I loved getting presents. DUH! What kid doesn't?

 But what I REALLY loved was the Christmas specials on TV!! All those fabulous holiday cartoons and movies came on and played every night for families to enjoy together. It's such a shame they don't do that anymore. :-( We do, from dvd though! Some of my best childhood memories were of my family sitting in the living room together, watching Frosty the Snowman or Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Mom would always make cook n serve pudding in mugs for us to eat while we sat in wonder. It was our most special treat and it only happened during Christmas time.

 So, you can imagine how excited I was when I saw the "Santa's Workshop" suite in Stampin' Up's Holiday Catalog!! I mean, this entire suite was pulled right out of my childhood!!! From the flocked candy cane paper, to the cotton drawstring bags, to the absolutely ADORABLE "Signs of Santa" stamp & die bundle!! I mean, what's not to love?! Santa and Mrs Claus and those cute little elves oh my!! It's even got the north pole!

Do you see that bag?!  OH MY GOSH!!! It's adorbs!! And you can do so many things with it! It's literally a blank canvas! :-) They're 4"x5" which is a perfect size to add all sorts of yummy treats or little trinkets. You can stamp and emboss directly on them too! SO FUN!!

And, how about that paper?  Oh My! I am totally and completely IN LOVE with this paper!! I admit, I have a few packages of it.... just for ME! haha!

This suite also includes some fabulous textured weave ribbon in "Poppy Parade", as well as gorgeous red rhinestones and some fabulous green & white striped baker's twine.  They all compliment this suite perfectly!

What's absolutely fabulous is that the stamps & dies coordinate BEAUTIFULLY with that paper too! Check it out!

I made a video to show how to use our Stampin' Blends to color Santa (and the rest of the cast) to make them look like the images on the paper.  So once the paper runs out, you can still have all your favorite characters whenever you want! How great is that?!

This bag was made using the "BAG FROM A CARD" technique that I showed you the other day.  I have a video in that blog post as well as on my Youtube channel, showing how to create the bag from a standard A2 size card.  It's a lot of fun! A Little Sneak Peek For You!

Good morning everyone!  I hope this finds you well on a fabulous Thursday morning!  The sun is shining, the air is crisp, and I'm reminded that winter is finally here in East Tennessee.  Days like this can be deceiving because they look so beautiful from inside the house.  But one foot out the door quickly reminds us what time of year it is! ha!

Well, what to do when it's too cold to play outside?  Hmmmm. I wonder!  STAMP!! Of course you knew that, didn't you?

Today, I have a special treat for you!  I've been working on the upcoming launch of SALE-A-BRATION and the new spring Occasions catalogs.  So, I thought you might enjoy a little sneak peek at one of the suites I'm most excited about!  It's not often that we get a super duper fabulous masculine stamp set BUT, this time we have one that knocks it waaaaaay outta the park!  "CLASSIC GARAGE" is coming soon, folks!! And you are going to LOVE IT!

Personally, I think it's going to compliment another awesome stamp set we already have in the 2018 Annual Catalog (pg. 55), called "One Wild Ride". It's got a fantastic motorcycle grunge feel to it and would work hand in hand with this suite, perfectly!

I've had a fabulous time making up some samples from this suite.  I love everything about it!  The stamps are awesome! I love the car and the toolbox and the gas can and, and, and...... ;-) It also has some incredible coordinating dies with it!!  Oh BOY!! THE DIES!!!  The die set would be fabulous all by themselves, especially for those who love the steampunk look.  There are some amazing looking gears and one big cluster of them too! AWESOME!!

What's really incredible about the dies (AND THANK YOU SO SO MUCH STAMPIN' UP!) is that they work so well with the GORGEOUS Designer Series Paper!  Check this out!  Photo 1 shows some of the dies lined up on the papers. BUT! Photo 2 shows that I discovered that ALL of the gears can be cut out of the one sheet of paper!

How AWESOME is that?!!!!  SO COOL!!!!!









Speaking of the paper, OOOOOOH MYYYYYY!!! It's gorgeous! And, you get 48 SHEETS! WOWZA!  That's 4 each of 12 double sided designs in 6x6" Designer Series Paper.  What you see here are front/back together of each paper.

The colors that coordinate with this pack are: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Tranquil Tide, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White.

This month's kit was called "To you and yours" and included a Cherry Cobbler ink spot.  The kit as is was fabulous! I am in LOVE with the holiday plaids and this kit ooozes Rustic Farmhouse Christmas to me, which is MY FAV!!

So naturally, I had to come up with some fun alternative projects!  I actually had to pack it up and put it away because I got so engrossed in creating different cards and 3D projects, that I quickly lost track of time! Ooops!  But, I managed to come up with some fabulous designs that I think you'll really enjoy.

I was so excited about the bag I created, that I shared it with my fellow demonstrators and Paper Pumpkin fans on facebook.  The response was pretty overwhelming, so I created a video showing how I made that GORGEOUS little bag.  Would you believe that it's made from one of the standard size A2 cards in the kit?!  I'm not kidding! And, it was so easy!

Weekly Blog Post #1!!

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!!

Ok I know I just posted, but that was just to say that I'm sorry for not being a good blogger. lol.  Ya know, I always thought I was good at technology.  But now I realize, I'm just a fabulous typist! Technology and especially the internet has surpassed me and has been running laps around me for a while now (if we're being completely honest).  All that to say, I am making this post as a fresh start!

THIS post is going to be the first of my "weekly blog posts".  Okie doke?  Here we go!!!

I wanted to share a little bit of what I've been up to lately.  December is upon us which means that it'll soon be Christmas! I'm not even the slightest bit ready. Are you?

I wanted to ensure that I get our Christmas cards out not only on time, but EARLY this year. I mean, my business is card making, so I should at least be good at getting the most important cards of the year out on time right? ;-)

It's December 3rd and I'm STILL debating between a couple of designs.  So I have decided that I'll just make several of each design and figure out who will get what.   You buy a pack of cards at Hallmark and they have a couple different designs, right?

What do you think of these?



I love how classy and elegant they look, but not over the top.  They'll be simple to replicate and are projects that our daughter, Hannah, can help me with. It's one of the few times she willingly participates in paper crafting.  14 year olds have better things to do than stamp, dont'cha know!

I'll try to figure out how to get "real fancy" and add the little icons and direct links to the products I used here (just in case you'd like to use these ideas for yourself).  Bear with me. :-)  I'm a work in progress!

Hello there!  It has been many months since I posted my first blog post.  Truth is, I completely forgot that I started the blog.  I'm really not getting a very good start at this "blogging" thing, am I?  But I aspire to be better at it.  I want to post here every day and write things that you want to read.  Realistically, that may not happen at first.  How about I commit to posting once a week to begin with?  Would that be ok?  I will focus on making that one post something fabulous and engaging, if you will allow that I'm learning.  With practice and patience, I think perhaps I can make this blog something you and I can both enjoy and be proud of!  So, to that end, let me get started with my "weekly post".  :-D
