Stampin' Dreams - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - Blog Hop

Good morning my crafty friends! Today, the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop crew are bringing you an exciting hop focused on a REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE theme! You're going to learn lots of great ways to get the absolute most out of your products and fun ways to use scraps and things that you might not think about using.  We're gonna have a great time, so let's get to it!!

One of my FAVORITE ways to "reduce" is to die cut shapes from the background layers of cardstock, before I attach them to a card.  There's just so much covered up real estate back there! You'll see from my card below, that I was able to get my entire tag piece die cut from the background layer of cardstock.  What a huge savings!

You'd never know just by looking at it, that I've cut the tag from that background layer. Would you?  But indeed I did!

Just look at how much paper I saved by this one little trick!  I can't tell you how much paper I've "reduced" over the years doing this.

But as you see here, You sure can't tell! Noone would ever be the wiser if I didn't say anything.

Another thing I do to "Reduce" the amount of supplies I use, is to stagger and "build up" layers on top of each other.  As you can see from the image below, I've got two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals on three corners, but only one on the last corner. That's because that one will sit on top of the tag layer, that's already popped up with Dimensionals.  So, in essence, I'm "borrowing" that layer's dimensional to balance out the height of this layer.  Pretty neat huh?

I just love finding new ways to reduce waste, and save on products.  Do you have a trick that you like to use?  Share it below! I'd love to hear!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my little supply saving tricks.  Be sure to hop all the way around to see what other fantastic ideas are awaiting you! Talk to ya later!

  3. Great tip! I almost always do that too - even cutting smaller mats from the middle of bigger ones.
