JANUARY 2025 Hearts for You Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop

Hello my crafty friends!! Oh boy have I got a terrific project to share with you today. AND it comes with the added bonus of an awesome blog hop! That's right folks, today we're gonna be hopping along the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! WOOT WOOT!!!  It's been a minute since I have been able to hop with these incredible designers, so I'm seriously thrilled to be able to join in on the fun this month!

The January 2025 "Hearts For You" Paper Pumpkin kit includes all the supplies needed to create NINE absolutely adorable Valentine cards.

And just look at all the delightful goodies in the kit!  Lots of fun stuff to play with!

I really fell in love with this kit and had a great time creating alternative projects with it.

Take a look at this sweet Valentine.  It was created by using the punch out negative from the kit.  I turned it into a stencil and colored on the rows of hearts.

I love thinking outside the box when it comes to making my alternative projects.  There's no scrap or  negative border safe when it comes to creating stencils.  I just use some painter's tape to make a wide border around the outside, so that I don't accidentally get color where I don't want it.

In this case, I also had to pay attention to the areas I had already colored because the stencil wasn't actually wide enough to go the whole way across the card layer.  No worries though.  All I had to do was shift the stencil to line up with a few of the hearts and color in the next ones! Easy peezy!!

The card base is an 8 1/2" x 5 /2" piece of Real Red Cardstock (scored at 4 1/4").  Then, I cut a red striped card (from the kit) down to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and die cut the heart using the fabulous coordinating add-on dies "Spring is in the Air" (#166237 $12usd).  I'm really loving the idea of a die set that coordinates with three months of Paper Pumpkin at a time!  It's been terrific!  If you haven't discovered these dies, or haven't started ordering them, I highly encourage you to do so!

Look at the little bee and honeycomb! I can't WAIT to be able to use that one!!!

I cut two pieces of Basic White Cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" for the front and inside panels and colored the rows of hearts in Pretty In Pink Ink with a blending brush.  Then, I used the little skinny strips of the striped card base cut from the front panel to put a strip down the left side of the card front and across the bottom of the inside panel.  Waste not, want not!

I should have taken a photo of my envelope, but I used the stencil to cover the flap in rows of hearts and then did a single row of hearts along the bottom front.  I really like to match my cards and envelopes by doing the same or similar actions as the inside of the cards.  The only thing better than getting a beautifully decorated envelope in the mail, is getting the gorgeous handmade card inside! <3 <3 <3

I really had fun making this card and I hope it gives you the idea of looking at your "scrap trash" in a whole new way! At least it gives us more fun ways to use our kit contents!!
