Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop All the Best

Hello, HELLO my crafty friends! How are you this evening?  Today, we're taking a trip around the cyberworld with the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop. YAY!!! Y'all know how much I just love thinking of alternative ways to use the Paper Pumpkin kits!  It's getting more and more difficult to WANT to though, because Paper Pumpkin is really bringin' up their game!  These kits are absolutely GORGEOUS as is!!!! BUT, the fun of the hop is seeing how many DIFFERENT ideas we can come up with for the kits.  That really is a lot of fun! :-D

The December Paper Pumpkin Kit "ALL THE BEST" creates 9 beautiful cards featuring lovely Crushed Curry flowers and Balmy Blue backgrounds.   I think it's just the ticket to remind us in the northern hemisphere that warmer days will be here before we know it!

As you can see, the kit includes lots of fun things to think outside the box with.  I love that it also includes a clear acrylic box and belly band so that you can give the completed cards as a sweet gift.  I plan to hang on to that box and turn it into something else, though.  You'll want to stay tuned for that!! Make sure you click "FOLLOW MY BLOG" over to the side, so that you don't miss it!! :-D

The PPP crew have put together a fantastic collection of alternative projects to share with you today.  It's time for me to share mine with you!

I started out with a THICK Basic White card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4").  To that, I added a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" layer of Crushed Curry to the front AND the inside. I love that little pop of yellow to really bring out the flowers!

For the front panel, I took a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock and stamped the Sketched Plaid background stamp in Balmy Blue ink.  Then, I took a Blending Brush and applied a very light layer of Balmy Blue ink across the whole piece.  Once I finished with that, I went back over the piece with a flower stamp from the December kit, and Balmy Blue ink and randomly stamped it all over.  I also stamped the flower on the 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White inside panel as well as across the whole envelope flap.

"NO NAKED INSIDES AND NO NAKED ENVELOPES!!!"

I punched a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch, and layered it under a piece of Basic White cardstock that I stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and punched with the Modern Oval punch.  I used Misty Moonlight because it's just a touch lighter than Night of Navy, and I wanted a more BOLD sentiment than the Balmy Blue would have offered.

I added three different flower die cut pieces to the front and popped the flower part up with Stampin' Dimensionals.   I really like the flowers and enjoyed the way they looked layered together.

To finish off my card, I added a few of the beautiful little blue bling from the kit and a nice double bow with Linen Thread.

I hope you enjoy my alternative card. I had a great time creating it for you!  Here are a few alternative examples that Stampin' Up provided for us.  Super cute too, aren't they?
