Inspire Create Share Blog Hop Sale-A-Brations

Sale-A-Bration is one of the BEST times of the Stampin' Up year, and this year we get TWO!!! YAY!! That's definitely worth SALE-A-Brating!

The ICS designers are doing a blog hop specifically to showcase the fabulous FREE products you can earn during this second Sale-A-Bration.

I will tell you that the minute I saw this ADORABLE Designer Series Paper, I was SMITTEN! It's soooooo stinkin' cute!!  The Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper is FREE with any $50 purchase from Stampin' Up. Trust me friends, you NEED this paper! :-D

My card is actually based on a challenge sketch I was a part of this week.  There are three pieces of DSP that make up the card front, layered on a piece of cardstock, and then matted onto the card base.

Here's what you'll need:

4 1/4" x 11" Fresh Freesia Card Base (scored at 5 1/2")
4 1/8" x 5 3/8" Soft Seafoam for from panel
4" x 5 1/4" Basic White for inside panel
2 3/8" x 2 3/8" Fresh Freesia for Scalloped Circle die cut
2 1/4" x 2 1/4" Basic White for Layered Circle die cut
a long 1/2" wide scrap of Basic White for stamping and cutting sentiment piece, hat, scarf, and feet.

For the DSP, you'll need:

I attached the DSP to the Soft Seafoam layer with Stampin' Seal.  I tried to leave an even border around all the sides. Then, I tied a bow of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon around the panel, and attached it to the card base with Stampin' Seal.

I die cut the Layering Circles from the Freesia and White pieces, and then stamped a penguin on the White piece.  The two pieces are layered together using Stampin' Seal.

On the long 1/2" strip, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink, the hat and scarf in Misty Moonlight ink, and the feet in Mango Melody.  The coordinating Penguin Builder Punch will cut out the feet, but the hat & scarf are fussy cut. They're pretty easy though.  The sentiment, I cut with a little extra room on the right side, so that I could dovetail the end.

I glued the hat and scarf directly onto the penguin using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The feet were attached using bits of dimensionals. And the sentiment was attached to the White Circle with a small dimensional on only the left side.  The entire layered piece is attached to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The finishing touch for the card is a few of the new Subtle Shimmer Sequins attached to give a little sparkle to the card.

Do you love the penguins too?  I think they're just the cutest!
