Stamparatus Technique Blog Hop

Good morning my fabulous paper crafting friends! How are you this glorious Tuesday? It's a spectacular spring day here in East Tennessee and I am LOVING IT! :-D I'm so ready for beautiful warm sunny days! 

Today we're participating in a technique blog hop featuring one of my absolute FAVORITE craft room tools, the Stamparatus!  If you don't have one yet, this blog hop is going to show you a lot of reasons why you NEED ONE!

I saw this technique on Pinterest one day and had to try it for myself.  It makes a beautiful background or accent piece!  

The Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper sold out really quick, but with this technique it doesn't even matter.  I'm going to show you a similar design that isn't using the paper. 

The Butterfly Brilliance Stamp & Die bundle is such a pretty set.  I didn't think I needed another butterfly set, but I was so wrong! In fact, I prefer this one to my others. lol.  And I've ordered a second stamp set so I can separate the butterflies and do even more with it! 

For my project, I wanted to place my butterflies in a specific spot and have the same angle on the inside of the card and on the envelope. This is where the Stamparatus comes in very handy!  Once you place the stamp where you want it, you can stamp, stamp, stamp your little heart out and get the same image each time. It's PERFECT for assembly line production!  

I also prefer the Stamparatus to the big F block when using large background size stamps because I'm able to reink and stamp over any spots I may not have pressed down good. It helps ensure a perfectly stamped image every time! 

I wanted my butterflies to look like they were flying across my card, so I set them at a bit of an angle. 

With the Stamparatus, I'm able to reink and stamp again if I need to or want a deeper stamped image. 

Since the Butterfly Brilliance is one stamp and one die, it's absolutely PERFECT for creating a beautiful background.  I die cut the whole die on a piece of cardstock to use as a stencil.  With my blending brushes and a few inks (Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, and Magenta Madness), I was able to create a soft rainbow effect. 

What's really cool about this is that it creates the illusion of a layered piece!  It's so neat! 

I love being able to use my paper wisely, and when I need to die cut something for a card, it's great to cut it from the background that gets covered up by layers. It's a terrific way to be thrifty and noone is the wiser. :-D 

I used the Tasteful Labels Dies to create the sentiment piece.  I cut the Basic Back background piece and a scrap of Basic White.  

To get the layered effect, I simply trimmed along the embossed edge. It made a perfect mat! 

The sentiment came from the Tasteful Touches stamp set.  It's a perfect "just because" statement.  In fact, the Stamp & Die bundle are pretty great for a lot of different occasions!
