PPP Blog Hop So Cool

Heya Friends! It's time for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! YEAH! I absolutely LOVE the Paper Pumpkin kit and really enjoy seeing what else I can create with its contents.  There's a ton of fun to be had inside that little red box!

The April 2021 "SO COOL" Paper Pumpkin kit is revving us up for some Summertime treats! Each of the 4 designs are die cut into fun shapes (watermelon slices or popsicles) and are full of bright and cheerful colors.

The kit came with a lot of goodies to play with! Three each of four designs for a total of 12 fun and fabulous little cards, plus two "FREE" sheets of stickers that aren't needed to complete the cards as instructed and can be used however you like! And, I really liked the added touches of silver glimmer paper too! 

Now for the alternative!

For my alternative card, I chose to use the die cut frame (that held the labels) as a stencil.  I've shown you how I create stencils from these die cut pieces before, so I won't bore you with the details. I lined the stencil up across my 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" white layer and used Blending Brushes to apply the colors.  Looking at the card (Left to Right) I used: Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, BumbleBee, Cinnamon Cider, Terracotta Tile.  

The stampset in the kit had an adorable little "splatter" stamp.  That's what I used for the pops of color with the backgrounds. I just stamped the same colors full strength on each one. So much fun! 

I layered the White piece onto a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Basic Black cardstock and then mounted onto a Terracotta Tile card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2"). 

I like to get the most out of all the supplies in my kits, so after I punched out all the silver glimmer pieces, I cut the frame apart to give me little accent strips.  I used one of them here, under my Happy Birthday label.  I stamped this is Blackberry Bliss and then attached it to the card base with dimensionals.   

Because the Sun was a sticker, but I wanted to pop it up too, I used my embossing buddy on the backside to dull the sticky. You can accomplish this by simply sticking it multiple times to your shirt or pants instead. Then I attached it with dimensionals, overlapping the label. 

The twine included in this month's kit is BumbleBee, and I love it! I want to save some for another project later, so I'm using it sparingly.  Per the kit instructions, you use a 12" length to lay behind the labels on each of the cards, but I found that using 9" was plenty and gave me a bit of twine leftover to use on other things! YAY! I used just enough to tie a sweet little bow here, and attached it with a glue dot. 

My finishing touch was to add just a few little Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the front of the card. So cute!
