Hello my friends! How are you on this fine Monday? I have a fun post to share with you today! So many things to chat about, where should I begin?
Ok! First thing is that I'm going to share a card layout with you. They are also commonly called a "card map" or "card sketch". Whatever you know them by, they are an incredible resource for being able to keep your creativity flowing!

From this sketch/map/layout, you can create beautiful cards that have a similar appearance, but can have totally different looks.
Which brings me to the 2nd thing I wanted to share with you today! The 2018-2020 In-Colors are retiring on the 2nd of June and I am super sad to see them go. I LOVE the bold bright feel of these colors. So I decided to take this card sketch and create a set of fun and cheerful greetings to share! I used the "Witty-cisms" stamp set which sadly is retiring as well. For that matter, so is the White Baker's Twine if you can believe it! Stampin' Up must have some incredible products up it's sleeve in the BRAND NEW upcoming 2020 Annual catalog, huh?! I guess that means you'd better run and get yours while you still can!! :-D
For each of the cards I created, I used the same layout idea. However, as you can see, I changed the colors AND the shape of the focal image. See, sketches/layouts/maps are just a really cool GUIDE. They're not set in stone. They give a fantastic foundation point to help you create your own masterpiece!
They're just so BRIGHT and FUN! I love them!!
Did you notice how each one had coordinating Rhinestones? I used the Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels and then colored them with Stampin' Blends. We have Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, and Call Me Clover, but I had to be a little creative for the other two. I used LIGHT Night of Navy for the Blueberry Bushel and LIGHT Pumpkin Pie for the Grapefruit Grove. I'm so happy to have the Blends so I can create my own coordinating bling!

Well my friends, that's all for today. It's Make-It Monday, so be sure to head over to my YouTube channel to see today's project video! I'll be sharing more ideas for using this card layout. :-D
Or, you can just watch it here! Enjoy!

Do you make your own sketches or where do they come from?
ReplyDeleteHiya! This one is modified from another, but typically I do my own designs.
