Here are a few of the candle sets I did for my craft fair this weekend. Aren't they fabulous?
Things you'll need for this project:
* 1 sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock
* Coordinating DSP or cardstock (3 1/4" x 5 1/4" for background) (1- 5/8" x 3 3/8" for front panel of box)
(2 - 5/8" x 2 7/8" for side panels of box)
* Ribbon and embellishments of choice
* Scoreboard
* Scissors
* Tear 'n Tape
* Bone Folder
To start with, you may want to print out this template. Just remember that it's a FULL SHEET of cardstock, so if your printer shrinks it down, the measurements will still be for the whole sheet.
On the LONG SIDE of the paper, you'll score all the way across at:
1/2", 1 1/4", 1 3/4", 2 1/2", 5 1/2"
On the SHORT SIDE of the paper, you'll score all the way down at: 2 1/2" and 6"
Turn back to the LONG SIDE, and at the 6 1/4" mark, score down to the 6" cross-line, skip the middle section and start scoring again at the 2 1/2" cross-line, down the rest of the side. (Note this at the 6 1/4" score mark on the LONG SIDE in the photo.)
Once again turn to the SHORT SIDE and score the following lines all the way down to the 6 1/4" cross-line: 1/2", 1 1/4", 1 3/4", 6 3/4", 7 1/4", 8"
While still on the SHORT SIDE, score the following two marks ONLY DOWN TO THE 2ND LINE: 3" and 5 1/2". (Notice these two short score lines on the short side of the photo).
If you'd like to add DSP or a handstamped background to the box, now is the time to add it. You can use your favorite standard adhesive to apply it to the background. It'll be easier to add the panel layers AFTER the box is assembled, if you choose to use them.
Now that you have all your score lines made and your background layer adhered, you'll want to follow the video to show how and where to cut to assemble the box.
I hope that you enjoy this project and, should you make your own, please feel free to head over to my Stampin' Chic's Facebook Group page and share your photos there. I'd love to see your work! :-)
Thanks so so much for all the love and support of my candle gift box! I'm thrilled that it's so well received! ENJOY!!
Until Next Time,
Happy Crafting!
