Technique Tuesday - Window Card

Good morning my friends! I hope you're doing well today! It's time for another technique!  Are you enjoying them?  Some are new, some are old refreshers, but all are fabulous! I truly enjoy learning new techniques and being reminded of old ones. There's so much we can do with our crafts!

Today's technique is WINDOW CARD.   Now this is a HUGE wide open term, so I'm going to give you the basic run down and then show you photo samples.

BASICALLY, a window card is  just like it sounds.  A "WINDOW" is placed into the card.  This can be on the surface level of the card or can be an open window through the front of the card, allowing you to see inside, OR this can be a window that allows you to see all the way through the entire card.

The project I made for today's post, is an example of a surface level window.  I have cut a hole in the dsp layer and placed an image behind it with a frame around the hole.

The image inside the window is the adorable scene in the "Free As A Bird" stamp set.  I love it.  So pretty!

This is the simplest of window cards.  You stamp an image you want viewed in the window, cut it on a piece of cardstock bigger than your window, layer it behind the top layer on the card, add a frame and Viola! Done!!

As I mentioned though, Window cards can get quite intricate.  You're limited only by your imagination! Here are some I found on Google:

Of course there are as many different ideas as there are people! This one is so much fun to experiment with!
