Autumn/Halloween Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Good morning my crafty friends! It's the last Monday of the month, and that means its time for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop!! YAYAYA!!!

It also happens to be Halloween!! DOUBLE YAYA!! This month's theme is Autumn or Halloween.  Since I have done my 13 Days of Halloween Treats recently, I thought I'd take a break from the spooky things and go with a nice fall themed card.

However, if you'd like to check out my 13 Days of Halloween Treats, you can find them by visiting my YouTube Playlist Here:

Now then, let me share my Fall card with you.....

First of all, can I just say that I am IN LOVE with this stamp set? Not only does it have beautiful sentiments, but just look at that maple leaf cluster! It's GORGEOUS!  What's not to love about it?  It's simply beautiful.  So, I chose to let the stamp set have center stage.

My card base is an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4") piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  The front layer of the card is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the Cottage Gingham Designer Series Paper. I used Cajun Craze ink to stamp the leaf cluster on a 3" x 4" piece of Basic White Cardstock.  The sentiment was also stamped in Cajun Craze ink on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock, then I fussy cut around it.  It's layered onto a 4" x 5/8" strip of Cajun Craze Cardstock.

As you can see, this is a pretty simple card.  But oh my is that leaf pretty!! Everything is glued directly, except that Cajun Craze strip. It's attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Then, the sentiment "so grateful" is glued directly to the strip. It's just beautiful.

Of course, if you like a gussied up card, you could always add a Linen Thread bow or a few rhinestones.  Perhaps you could even add a little Wink of Stella to the leaf.  Yes, you could certainly do any or all of the above.  But the simplicity of this card is part of its charm, I think.

Be sure to follow the hop around and visit all of the blogs listed below!  This hop is my favorite one because all of the designers involved always do beautiful work!  Hop around and see for yourself. Enjoy!

Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop

Good evening my crafty friends! It's time for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop! YAYAYAYA!!! Y'all know I just LOVE Paper Pumpkin and I especially love coming up with creative alternative projects using the kits too! That's why this blog hop is one of my absolute FAVS!! Be sure to hop all the way around to get lots of awesome alternative ideas!

The "HO HO HO" Paper Pumpkin Kit features NINE of the most GORGEOUS cards I've ever seen come from a Paper Pumpkin kit!  Boy! oh Boy!! The Paper Pumpkin folks really hit this one waaaaaay outta the ballpark! It's absolutely gorgeous!

Plus, look at all the spectacular goodies that's included in this kit! Lots and lots of cool things to play with! This one's gonna be really fun to make alternatives with!

I chose to make a little gift box as one of my alternative projects. When making alternatives, it's important for me to create something totally different AND to also create things that ONLY use contents of the kit. I want you to be able to replicate this project using only what you have.

So, this little box only uses things that were included in your kit.  I took one card base and cut it in half  on the score line. Then, I scored all four sides at 11/16" (which is the mark just before 3/4".  You could also go ahead and score all the sides at 3/4" to make things easier if you like. :-)  When you burnish the lines, burnish the Cherry Cobbler side tight and the striped side a little loose. You want the lid to be just microscopically bigger than the base, so that your base doesn't buckle.

You can see here that I colored the Santa to look very similar to the die cut piece. There are only a few of those little guys and once they're gone, you may want to make more. You can! I used Cherry Cobbler, Light Crumb Cake and Light Flirty Flamingo to color him in.

You can see the elements I borrowed from the kit. However, you could decorate the box however you like if you've already used all your pieces for the gorgeous cards!

I did add just a little piece of White Baker's Twine to finish my box.  You certainly don't have to, but most likely you've got a bit of baker's twine on hand. :-) If you've been doing Paper Pumpkin for a while, you surely do! If not, just substitute with any string or ribbon that you have on hand.

I can't wait to see what next month has in store for us! It's going to be a coordinating kit! YAYAYA!!!

There are some super cute little gift bags that you can add on too, if you like! Be sure to check them out!
