Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop - April 2022

Good morning friends! Are you ready for another dose of Paper Pumpkin?  Today, we're joining the Crafty Collaborations Crew for our monthly Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop!

I have another fun alternative project to share with you today! YAY!

This time, I'm taking apart one of the fancy fold card bases.  I'm going to use the biggest section for my card front here.  Of course, I'm not throwing away the other two sections. I'll use those for something else. :-D

That's the beauty of Paper Pumpkin! If you want to follow the kit instructions, you can and you'll end up with gorgeous projects! If you want to go out on a limb and use the supplies in the kit for something new and unique, you absolutely can! And, you'll end up with a beautiful original project! The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless!!

For this card, I started with a Melon Mambo Card Base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4").  I added a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" layer of Granny Apple Green Cardstock to the front and then layered the card section (cut to 5 1/4" x 4") on top.

From here, I grabbed a scrap of Basic White Cardstock and stamped the butterflies and caterpillar. Fussy cutting them out was pretty simple.

I used the Tasteful Labels Dies to cut the Granny Apple Green Banner.   The sentiment was stamped in Crushed Curry ink and the cut close to the words, so that it would fit on the banner.  I added Stampin' Dimensionals between each layer of the banner.

The Butterflies were all added with Stampin' Dimensionals as well, after I rolled the wings with my bone folder.  It really adds some nice texture and dimension to the card!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Change is Beautiful

Hello my crafty friends! It's time for a Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop!!  Yay!!

The April 2022 "Change is Beautiful" Paper Pumpkin kit is just gorgeous! I love the fancy fold cards, the butterflies and caterpillars, and the wonderful sentiments too!

I absolutely LOVE the color scheme for this kit! So cool!!

And check out those awesome fancy fold cards!  The sun and moon card is pretty neat too! The cutouts are already done for you!

This month's kit included a Melon Mambo ink spot.  It was one of my very first Stampin' Up ink pad colors!

The stamp set is really nice as well. One of the things I absolutely LOVE about Paper Pumpkin, is the exclusive stamp set in each kit!  These sentiments are so nice and I love the detail in the butterflies and caterpillar.

Right! On to my alternative project! I am notorious for cutting apart Paper Pumpkin envelopes when they have patterns on the inside.  This month's kit did not disappoint in that department! The beautiful Melon Mambo Polka Dot paper you see here is the inside of an envelope! LOOOOOVE!!!

I started with a standard A2 size Basic Black Card Base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4").

Then added a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Granny Apple Green Cardstock.

On top of that went the Melon Mambo Polka Dot paper. This piece measures 5 1/4" x 4". Before attaching it, I wrapped and tied a length of the White Crinkle Ribbon into a bow.

I used the largest of the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut this Basic White piece.  Then, I used the floral die cut negative piece as a stencil to add Crushed Curry flowers with a Blending Brush.  I absolutely LOVE turning the die cut negatives into stencils! It's such a cool way of really extending the life of your kit. And it opens up a world of possibilities for alternative projects!

A small micron pen made the lines and dots around the flowers.  It's an old technique used to embellish die cut pieces years ago.  I attached the butterfly with a dimensional, after I rolled it's wings with my bone folder.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento ink and then the whole white layer was attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This is such a sweet alternative project to the kit. And, as you can see, it still fits the theme of the kit nicely. I hope you enjoyed my project!
