Stampers Showcase Winter/Holiday

Good morning friends! It's the last Make-It Monday of the month.  And that means it's also time for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop!!!  YAYAYA!!

This month's theme surrounds the Winter time and upcoming Holidays! Such a welcome change of joy and cheer compared to this whole past year! YUCK!

I'm excited to share today's project with you, so I'll get right to it!  My project features an iconic American Christmastime Treat...... The little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes!

Are you a fan?  OH MY! They're definitely a favorite in my household!

Yummy goodness! Smiles in every delicious bite! YUM!

Since these covetous treats make such a terrific gift this time of year, I thought I'd create an adorable little gift box for them!

I set out to get a box, only to find that this year Little Debbie had created a "jumbo size" tree cake too.  Personally, it's a bit too much. Those little trees are just the perfect size.  However, I had to create a box for both sizes!

Notice on the templates here, that one says "BIG" Christmas Tree Cake Treat Holder and the other does not.  The measurements are slightly different, but both boxes are created the same way.

Since today is Make-It Monday, I created a video tutorial for you as well! YAY!

I really enjoyed creating these adorable boxes.  They'll make fantastic Stocking Stuffers! Don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by today my friends! I truly hope you enjoyed my projects.  They are so fun to make!

Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hey there my crafty friends! How are you this fine Wednesday?  Today I'm sharing a bit of Paper Pumpkin love with you and we're joining in on a Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop!

This month's kit called "JOLLY GINGERBREAD" creates 15 gift card pockets and coordinating envelopes. What a cute idea! Of course, they're super easy to convert to just Holiday Gift Tags instead.

If you create gift tags, you have no need for the envelopes.  This is where my Alternative project comes into play!  I give you......... The Love Token Coupon Book!

There are 6 pockets (envelopes) to this book and each one holds a special gift for someone special in your life.  I printed out the coupons below, cut each one out and then layered onto colored cardstock.  I used all the colors that coordinated with this kit: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Cinnamon Cider, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, and Shaded Spruce.  Then I stapled a scrap of Cinnamon Cider Ribbon to one end.  Now our coupons are ready to "install" into the book!

To assemble the book, I used 6 envelopes.  On all of the envelopes, I cut the tiniest sliver off the bottom of the pocket.  On just one of the pockets, I scored 1/8" across the closure flap to create a "spine" for my book.

In the photo here, you can see how tiny a sliver you cut off the bottom edge.  You can also see the score line on the envelope flap.

Once you get all the envelopes prepped, you can start assembling them.  I used the adhesive flap to attach to the previous envelope.  I also added Tear & Tape farther up on the flap, to give the whole section a good seal.

You can see here that I have the first envelope facing down.  The second envelope is facing up and I'm attaching the flap to the backside of the first envelope. You'll do all of the remaining envelopes this way.

Once you have all the envelope pocket pages attached, you'll wrap the front envelope's flap around to the backside of the whole book.  Make sure that it is snug, but not too tight.

All that's left is to decorate!  Go wild and have lots of fun on this part! I used the Layering Circles to create the background for the house.  I colored the house with a few Stampin' Blends markers, and then went over the windows with Wink of Stella to make them shine.

I really enjoyed creating this and I can't wait to tuck it into my husband's Christmas Stocking. I think he'll love it!

Below you'll find easy printable cards that you can use for your own coupon book.  The first has my printed coupons.  The second has a bunch of "blank" ones for you write in your own love tokens!  Enjoy!

Perhaps you'd like to create your own Love Tokens Coupons.  Use this one to fill in the blanks with your own ideas!
