Happy BOO From Me To You!

Heya friends! I have a sweet little treat for you today! We're nearing the end of September and that means Halloween is coming soon! Surely that means I need to share some fun treat ideas with you!  You're in luck! Today is one such day! :-D

I recently came across a bag of individually wrapped Green Apple Gumballs. I thought they'd make fantastic Halloween treats, but wasn't exactly sure at the time what kind of holders I'd make for them.  Today, I decided to play around with them a little, and came up with this absolutely stinkin' adorable matchbook treat holder for them.

Adorable, isn't it?

I created the little Matchbook to fit the gumball perfectly, and then realized that the BOO tag from "Tags Tags Tags" fit perfectly too!! WIN!

One of the fabulous things about the Tags Tags Tags bundle is that the little jack-o-lantern dies fit the stamped images on the tag.  So you can stamp and then die cut or just die cut out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  I goofed the alignment on this one, so I used it as my test piece. lol.  It seems to be easier to die cut the tags first and THEN align the stamp.

I cut up some tiny bits of dimensionals to pop those little jacks up!  They're really cute!

For the matchbook itself, I used a 1 3/8" x 5 1/2" strip of Basic Black Cardstock (scored on the LONG side at: 1/2", 2 3/4", and 3 1/2"). The first 1/2" section is the base of the matchbook.  Once you've scored and burnished all your lines. Insert the little gumball wrapper all the way down to the score line and then staple near the bottom fold. The rest of the cardstock folds over the front of the candy and then tucks into the 1/2" section.

The fringed twine is the black and white baker's twine from the Playful Pets combo pack.  I used about 6" length and then cut a bit off to shorten and frey the ends.  I added dimensionals to the back of the tag to attach it to the matchbook too.  Perfect fit!

I added a few of the Holiday Rhinestones just to give a little sparkle. So cute!

I hope you enjoyed today's fun little project!

Stay tuned beginning this Thursday October 1st for the 13 days of Halloween Treats! I'll be doing a post every day from the 1st through the 13th sharing a different one!

Until Next Time,
Happy Crafting!

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - Fall/Halloween Fun!

Hello friends!!! It's time for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop!!! YAYAYAYA!!!  This month's theme is my absolute FAVORITE theme of the WHOLE YEAR!! Fall/Halloween!! WOOT WOOT!! Cooler air, falling leaves, Hot Apple Cider, Bonfires, Hoodies and S'mores! OH YEAH!

Well, I didn't create a bonfire or s'mores for you today, but I did use the Beautiful Autumn Stamp & Punch bundle to create a super sweet fall card for you!

I love the clean look of layering a Very Vanilla mat onto the Very Vanilla card base.  You get the same classy elegant clean look with Whisper White too. It's just beautiful!  Limiting the colors in the background allows us to focus on the gorgeous fall colors in the leaves and acorn.

Card Base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Very Vanilla Scored at 4 1/4" on the long side
Layer one is 5 1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla attached with Dimensionals
Squares are 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" Very Vanilla that have been die cut with the smallest Stitched Square die out of the Stitched Shapes Die set.
Ribbon is 6" of the Mint Macaron Basket Weave Ribbon

I used the following inks:
Cajun Craze
Early Espresso
Soft Suede
Crumb Cake
Mint Macaron
Pretty Peacock

This week's Make-It Monday video shows how I created the card.  It's super easy and so much fun to do!

A Fall Scrapbook Layout for you!

Good morning! Thanks so much for stopping by.  Today we're taking part in the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop.  The designers have created some beautiful Autumn/Halloween scrapbook layouts for you to enjoy!
I originally thought I'd like to do a Halloween theme, but I came up with this idea for a little mini fall album instead.  I hope you like it!

This album is perfect for carrying around a few little wallet sized photos in your bag.  Who doesn't like showing off the babies or grandbabies?

To create the album, we first need to create the base.  To start with, you'll need two pieces of Cajun Craze Cardstock that measure 3 3/4" x 8 1/2".  Then, you'll score each (on the long side) at 2 1/2", 5", and 7 1/2".   Accordion folding on the score lines will compact the pages into a nice little folder.

As you can see from the photo below, I attached a 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to the first 2 1/2" block of one piece of Cajun Craze.  Then I applied Liquid Glue to the small flap of the other piece and laid it over the top of the Vanilla Cardstock.

I used that flap to my advantage, to create a decorative "layer" for this page of the album.  Pretty smart huh?  We'll call this Page #4. I'll list measurements for all the pages along with the completed photos.

Once I attached the two strips of Cajun Craze together, I started decorating each of my pages.  Each section is one page.

Pages 1 & 2:
Page 1 is a 2 3/8" x 3 5/8" Piece of DSP

Page 2 Is a 2 3/8" x 3 5/8" Piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. I used a scrap strip of Vanilla cardstock to stamp & punch the leaves & acorns and added 3 small Gilded Gems around the wreath to dress it up.

For Page 2, I used one of the Layering Circles dies as a template and traced the inner circle with a light hand and my pencil.  This created a guide line for where to attach the punched leaves and acorn pieces.  Each of those were attached with Liquid Glue around the edges of the pencil line.  The outer lines of the leaves and acorns were stamped using Early Espresso Ink.  The colored in portion was stamped off once and the coloring was as follows:

Maple Leaf: Cajun Craze
Oak Leaf: Mint Macaron
Acorn: (body) Crumb Cake, (cup/hat) Soft Suede

I used three of each to make the wreath.  And then stamped "Hey There" in Pretty Peacock.

Pages 3 & 4:
Page 3 is a 2 3/8" x 3 5/8" piece of DSP with a 2 3/8" x 1" strip of Very Vanilla glued on three sides to create a pocket for the tag, which is another piece of DSP that measures 1 3/4" x 2 3/4".  The large Gilded Gem adds a little style to the page.

Page 4 (as mentioned earlier) is a 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock that was glued on before we attached the two Cajun Craze pieces together. The strip of DSP is 7/8" x 3 5/8" and mats onto the Cajun Craze strip that was formed from our original scoring.  I also tied a length of Metallic Ribbon from the Combo Pack to add a little texture.

Pages 5 & 6:
Page 5 is simply a 2 3/8" x 3 5/8" piece of DSP

Page 6 is a 2 3/8" x 3 5/8" piece of Vanilla with a little 2 3/8" x 3/4" strip of DSP that's been torn on either side. And then I added two medium gilded gems to the strip.

The outside cover of the book is a 6" x 4" piece of Early Espresso Cardstock that has been scored at 2 3/4" and 3 1/4" on the LONG side.  Then, I just glued the front page of the book to the inside front cover and glued the last strip of the book to the inside back cover.  This keeps the whole thing intact.

On the cover, I wrapped a length of the Mint Macaron Basket weave ribbon around the whole book and tied it into a nice bow on the edge.   Then I layered a 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of DSP onto the front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I used the 2nd smallest Stitched Square die and Vanilla Cardstock for the front piece and one each of the leaves and acorn.  I attached each of the punched pieces with dimensionals to the square and attached the square using dimensionals as well.

finish the beauty off with a little bit of Gilded Gems and you have a fine photo book that you can be proud to show off! :-D
