Mini Post-it Notepad holder

Hello there friends! Today's project is a fun and simple one, which makes it a fabulous gift to give out in bulk for say..... A Teacher appreciation?  You can easily make 20 or 30 of these in short order for all the teachers in your school! hehe.  Well, you can also just make one to gift for a college graduate or business promotion too. Whatever the occasion (or none at all), you'll love this adorable little note pad holder! Let's get started!

Here's what you're going to need for this project:

* A piece of DSP measuring 7 1/8" x 2 1/4"
* A piece of Cardstock measuring 2 7/8" x 2 3/8"
* A scrap piece of the same Cardstock
* A Scrap piece of Whisper white Cardstock
* Approx 13" of your choice of ribbon.
* 1" circle punch
* Layering Circles dies
* Big Shot
* Stampin' Dimensionals
* Liquid Glue
* Mini Post-it Notepad (I got a 4pk at the dollar tree for $1)

Ok, now that you've got your supplies in order:

On the LONG SIDE of the DSP, score at 1 5/8", 3 3/8", 3 3/4", 5 1/2"

Take the Cardstock and score it at 3/8" on all four sides. This will make the base for your notepad to set in.

Take a look at my video for assembly instructions:

I hope you enjoyed this adorable little project!  It's a lot of fun to make.  So simple, quick and easy! Please leave a comment on the video (or here) with ideas for gifts that this notepad "book" would be good for.  I'd love to hear how you might use it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic day!!

Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

Stampers Showcase SPRING theme APRIL Blog Hop

GOOD MORNING my friends!!! I'm so glad you're here with me today!  It's time for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop, and this month's theme is SPRING/FLORAL.  YAY!! The Stampers Showcase is an incredible group of Stampin' Up demonstrators who create beautiful and amazing projects to share with you each month.  Every month is a different theme and each demo puts their own spin on it!  You'll definitely want to make sure you visit each blog in the hop.  So don't forget to find the "NEXT" button in each one, to take you on to the next.  You'll know when you've completed the hop, when you come back to the blog you started with. :-)

For my project, I decided to step back into the 2018 annual catalog.  All of the products I used can be found there.

Since our theme was Spring and Florals, the Abstract impressions Stamp set and coordinating dies screamed out my name!  You see that absolutely STUNNING die cut corner piece on the card?  That ONE PIECE sold me on the entire bundle! lol.  Of course, since then, I've found many fabulous uses for the set.  The stamps actually have some of my favorite (and most often "GO TO") sentiments.  So it's turned out to be a valuable set for my collection.

Beautiful isn't it?

This card was really simple and easy to do and actually took no time at all.  That big die cut piece really does most of the work for you. :-) Since it's such an intricate piece, you'll definitely want to have the die brush on hand to get all the little bits out of it and get the die cut free of the die itself.  But the brush makes quick work of it.

I cut the floral piece, and die cut the sentiment pieces before I stamped.  Since the stamps are photopolymer, I can easily see where I needed to stamp.  So, I got all the die cutting out of the way at one time.

Using the embossing buddy helps keep the powder from sticking where I don't want it to, and I get a nice clean embossed image this way too! I love embossing! Don't you?

I used dimensionals to layer between the Very Vanilla oval and the gold scalloped one.  This gives a nice texture to the card.  I also put dimensionals on the bottom of the gold layer when I attached the piece to the card. DOUBLE depth!

This fabulous trick really makes attaching those delicate die cuts a breeze!  You just need some liquid glue, a stampin' sponge, and a silicone mat.  The glue doesn't stay stuck to the mat, so it makes for easy cleaning.  Just squeeze out a bit of glue and then dab it onto the back of your die cut, with the sponge.  The important thing to remember here, is not to let  your piece slide around. It'll get glue all over the front if you do.  YUCK!

I really hope you've enjoyed today's project! Don't forget to follow the hop all the way around, so that you get to see everyone's beautiful designs.  Now, click the "NEXT" button below to head over to Rick's blog.  You're going to love his project!

Sentimental Rose - Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop

Hello my friends!! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I've got an exciting post to share with you!  It's time for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Alternative Blog Hop!!!  YAYAYA!!

You all know I absolutely LOVE coming up with alternative projects for my Paper Pumpkin kits! It brings me great joy! The only thing I love more than creating them, is sharing them with you!

This month's kit was absolutely GORGEOUS to begin with.

I'm proud to present.....Sentimental Rose!

I was so excited to find that this month's kit was going to feature a distinktive stamp, for the first time ever!! If you don't know about distinktive stamps yet, boy oh boy do I have something fabulous to show you! They create the shadow, the highlight, and the background, all in ONE stamped image! INCREDIBLE!!!

Let's get to it shall we? I can't stand to wait any longer! hehe.

I just love making treat boxes out of cards!  The card base for this one wasn't as big as an A2 size, so I had to adjust my score lines just a tad.  But the concept is the same.

I scored down the two sides at 1" and did a 1" score to the RIGHT of the center fold (as shown above).   Then I scored 2 3/" to the LEFT of the center fold, from the edge to the 1" score line (on both sides). I cut that little section off in each of those two corners and then mitered my tabs and ended up with this:

I did a video on how to make the box from a card.  Use the measurements I gave above, but with the same technique as shown in the video.  :-) You can actually do this "method" with any size of paper, really. Just a minor adjustment on the "DEPTH" and "HEIGHT" measurements.

After the box is assembled, it's time to decorate it!

I used one of the frames and the "THANK YOU" stamp to make a sentiment for my box. I REALLY am happy with the stamp set in this kit! There are TONS of fantastic sentiments that you'll be able to use alot throughout the years!

I added some of that fabulous polka dot tulle ribbon (which I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOVE) to help soften up the design a bit.  Worked like a charm! hehe. Then attached my sentiment with dimensionals.

One thing I didn't do before I assembled my box, which I really wished I had, was stamp the gorgeous flower and leaves on the top corner of the back panel.  I managed to finagle my stamps into the box to get it done, but it's not as far as I would have liked.  It's there at least. lol.  Thankfully, without having made a HUGE mess of things.

Don't do that! lol.  Stamp it first, THEN assemble!! HAHAHA

I hope you've enjoyed today's post! I really love these little treat boxes and they're so easy to make! I hope you'll try it too!

Don't forget to follow the hop all the way around! We've got some absolutely incredible projects for you to see!!  Look for the "NEXT" pumpkin in each post, to move on to the next. :-)

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Check back soon as I'll have another post with all of my other Paper Pumpkin Alternative projects for this month! You'll love em!!!  It's all about 3D for me this month!! hehe.

Have a super fantastic day, my friends!

Until next time,
Happy Crafting!
